Born, educated and now based near Minehead in Somerset; I went into a 4 year engineering apprenticeship with a well known paper making company on leaving school in 1983.

The initial year consisted of a broad based multidisciplinary training programme - the next three years divided between mechanical engineering techniques and the four mainstream welding procedures along with their specific associated applications:

	Shielded metal arc welding		Oxy-acetylene welding and cutting
	Gas tungsten arc welding		Gas metal arc welding

After successfully completing my City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Parts 1 & 2 along with the same degree of achievement in Welding Parts 1 & 2. Course contents structured along the following:

	Principles of Mechanics		Reading Working Drawings
	Measuring Instruments		Sources and Properties of Heat
	Steam Generation Theory		Properties of Materials
	Tools and Materials		Strength of Materials
	Metallic and Non-Metallic Materials

I have more recently passed specific Coded Welding tests covering:

	Stainless steel		Aluminium
	Mild steel		Cast Iron

I also hold an HGV Class 1 license as well as a vocational NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.

16 years hands on experience working with Monzas, Royales, Senators, GSis, Lotus Carltons & Bitter cars.
